Hey friends of Compass,
I just wanted to send a note and fill you in on some things that are happening with Compass...
1. Compass is not meeting any more. Yes, it is true. May 20 marked our last meeting together for Bible study as "Compass".
2. Something better is being built!
For those of you who were at that last meeting you heard about our vision to begin building "missional communities" in Santa Rosa that purpose to do ordinary life with Gospel intentionality. If you were not there let me spell out what this means:
As you read through the book of Acts you see that the church was not predominately trying to maintain its own feeling of being comfortable but were compelled by the Mission that Christ sent His church on, namely to make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). So as a community of believers they set out to live life under the Gospel for the sake of Gospel with the eager expectation that God would use their lives and words to draw others to Him and save many. The gospel-centered communities were based in homes and always had a missionary passion about them. They were growing, sending, and going to engage the culture and cities they lived in with the Gospel. That is what God calls every local church to, Santa Rosa Bible Church is no exception.
To that end we are birthing a missional community movement at SRBC, starting with our group that met on Wednesday night. These Catalyst Groups (that is what we are calling them) are intentionally going to be doing life together around the Gospel. What does that mean for you?
1. We will still meet on Wednedsay nights at 7pm at our house, starting June 10. However the primary purpose of our gathering together is not a Bible study or to dispense information to you. Our purpose is to do life together around the Gospel.
2. We are opening our group to a broader demographic. We want to see the Christian life lived out in a more complete way. So as we seek the Lord to build these catalyst groups we are expecting people that are older, younger, married, single, kids, no kids, etc. to be apart of them.
3. We will birth new communities from our initial community. This summer will be unique but our expectation is that once our community hits around 20 people we will multiply and create more communities that as they grow, multiply and create more communities.
4. We want you! You might think that we don't want any thing to do you with you anymore. That couldn't be more wrong. We want to do ordinary life with you with Gospel-intentionality! We have asked a few families at SRBC who are looking for this kind of community outside of a fellowship group to join with us as well, but we really want you to be a part of these Catalyst Groups.
So please be praying for us as we launch these Catalyst Groups. We are excited to be able to do life together with you around the Gospel and our hope is that God will use us to reach Santa Rosa for the Gospel. If you have any questions please let me know!
In Christ for the Gospel,
Jeremy

New Location... Same Great Ministry!
Hey Compass,
I hope that everyone is having a great week and is being brought closer to Christ in all that is occurring in your life. I wanted to share a couple of important pieces of information with you about Compass.
First of all we have a new location for our Wednesday night study. As many of you know Stephanie I have moved and are now located at 3371 Magowan Drive in Santa Rosa. Here's a map to our new place: 3371 Magowan Drive. Please join us tonight as we watch the third part of Piper's series on Battling Unbelief.
Secondly our fellowship group on Sunday mornings has moved to a new room as well. To help accommodate the new Hispanic Ministry which is now using room 8, Compass is in room 31 on campus. We hope that you join us as Steve teaches through 1 Corinthians at 10:30 on Sunday mornings.
Finally, we say "goodbye" to Chad Bulter who is graduating from the Coast Guard tomorrow and moving up to Oregon this weekend. Be sure to be praying for him during this transition!
We hope to see you tonight and are praying for you! If you have any questions please let me know!

Compass Update
Hey Everybody,
Just wanted to give you an update on what is going on with Compass.
First of all I want to remind you that tonight we are meeting at my home for the second part of our series on "Battling Unbelief" as we deal with how God has equipped us to deal with and have victory over indwelling sin. We will meet at my place at 7pm. 333 Hansbery Way.
Secondly next Wednesday night is our usual "fellowship night" and we have planned a special night of dinner and bowling in Rohnert Park. Dinner is at 6pm at Chili's and after that we will cruise over to Double Decker Lanes to bowl a few games. Make plans on coming and being a part of that event as well!
I hope that you can join us for a great time of being in the Word and encouraging one another! See you tonight.

Compass Events - Week of October 27
Hey Everyone,
I hope that you are doing well this week. I just wanted to inform you of the activities that are going on this week for Compass and how you can be involved!
Wednesday Night - this week is our special end of the month fellowship "party" if you will and it is a Reformation Day Party! We will be having dinner together and enjoying fellowship, games, and a few things to think about from the Word as well. Stephanie are providing the bratwurst (since Martin Luther was German we figured he would be pleased) and need you guys to bring a few things to complement the meal. So if you can bring any of the following please email me back what you are bringing:
- Hamburger Buns (for those who don't want a brat)
- Side Dish's (German potato salad, chips, etc).
- Drinks (we will have hot cider, coffee and tea)
- Desserts (anything fall"ish" or German Chocolate Cake (are you seeing a theme here?))
Saturday Service - Saturday at 3pm we will meet again at our house and go to a local dollar store to purchase items for Samaritan's Purse Shoe Boxes. Plan on spending 5-10 bucks to buy toys, toiletries, etc. for these shoeboxes. We will then return to the homestead, assemble as many shoeboxes as we can and prepare to send them off to Samaritan's Purse so they can be distributed to needy children in third-world countries for Christmas! It is a fun, cheap way to help kids and to be a blessing to those in need! We will have food and a great time together!
Hope you have a great week. As always please contact us if you have any needs and we will look forward to seeing you soon!

Compass This Week
Hey Compass!
Just wanted to make you aware of events this week!
First of all please join us for Bible study on Wednesday night at 7pm. We will be covering Isaiah 21-25 this week as we continue through the Isaiah Project. (333 Hansbery Way, Santa Rosa)
Secondly, Saturday we are gathering for some fun and fellowship together. Here's the scoop:
Meet up at my house at 4pm and we will travel down to Petaluma to the Corn Maze/Pumpkin Patch together to get lost in corn and pick out some fun gourds. Bring around $10 for the corn maze and any other fun stuff at the maze. Following the corn maze we will come back to my home and have a fall dinner and enjoy fellowship together!
Next Sunday our fellowship group will pick up a new series on 1 Corinthians and Steve DeOrnellas will be teaching us through that book. I hope that you can make it at 9am in Room 8.
I hope you can make it! Have a great week and if you have any prayer needs, please let me know! I am praying for you.
